Movies Every Entrepreneur Should Watch in 2019

During the cold months, we tend to stay indoors to escape the harsh winter weather. It’s the perfect time to binge watch TV shows or movies! Entrepreneurs will find several intriguing films focused on business that are set to hit theaters and streaming services in 2019. Here are eight movies every entrepreneur should watch in 2019. Ford v. Ferrari

Matt Damon and Christian Bale star in Ford v. Ferrari which will be released in June. In the 1960’s, Ford tried to purchase Ferrari but the deal fell through at the last minute. Henry Ford II, then president of Ford, was outraged. This sparked revenge. He was determined then to create a car that would beat Ferrari at Le Mans.

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind was adapted from a best selling book by the same name. Based on a true story, a 13-year-old boy in Malawi was forced to quit school to help his family. He would sneak into the school library when he could to learn more about building a wind turbine. This dedication would save his village from famine. The film premieres on Netflix in 2019.

American Factory

This documentary proves that the struggle for the “American Dream” is real. The filmmakers follow Chinese billionaire Cho Tak Wong. He opened an auto glass company inside an abandoned General Motors factory in Morain, Ohio in 2016. The work standards that Wong expected from his employees wasn’t what he received. American Factory premiers at the Sundance Film Festival this month.

The Great Hack

The Great Hack is a documentary film about the data breach that spawned the Facebook Cambridge Analytica scandal, the effects of which are still felt today. The filmmakers follow the story on both sides of the hack. The Great Hack premieres at the Sundance Film Festival.

The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley

Through never before seen interviews, this documentary follows the story of Elizabeth Holmes, founder of Theranos, a blood testing startup business. She led the public to believe that her device, the Edison, could perform dozens of blood tests with just a single finger prick. She was later criminally charged because it was all a lie. The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley will also premiere at Sundance Film Festival.

The Biggest Little Farm

A filmmaker and his wife decide to leave the hustle and bustle of city life to fulfill their dream of owning a sustainable farm. For eight years, they struggle to realize their dream of Apricot Lane Farms. They filmed their whole process and will premiere it at Sundance this month.

Ramen Shop

This film follows a young Japanese chef on a journey to continue education in his craft of ramen making. The chef learned techniques from his recently deceased mother. Ramen Shop is expected to be released in the U.S. later this year.

Fighting With My Family

Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnston, this comedy depicts the true story of a family who wrestles together all over the country. Conflict arises when the siblings decide to pursue their dreams of auditioning for World Wrestling Entertainment. Fighting With My Family hits theaters on February 14.
