For the last year and a half, the appearance of our reception areas hasn’t been at the top of our minds. But, as more offices continue to open their doors to welcome clients and customers, it’s time to make sure that our reception areas and lobbies are more appealing than ever.

Your reception area is often the first thing a customer or clients sees when they walk through your doors. It’s where they start to form real opinions about your business. Below are several ways you can spruce up your reception space.

Hire a Good Receptionist

You can have fabulous decor and comfy chairs, but if your receptionist isn’t welcoming, all of those other efforts mean nothing to clients and customers. Hiring a quality receptionist or reception staff is crucial to sprucing up this space of your office. 

Keep It Clean

In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, cleanliness has become more important than ever. A well-kept space, free of clutter that smells nice, is inexpensive to maintain, but can make a world of difference for your reception space. Ask your reception staff to dedicate 30 minutes to an hour everyday to tidying the reception area, whether that be by running a vacuum on the carpet or lighting a few candles at the start of the workday.

Showcase Your Personality

Like we stated above, the reception area is where your clients and customers form their first opinions about your business. We recommend using your reception space to showcase your brand and its personality. From music and art to plants and other decor, there’s no end to the ways that you can let your personality shine as soon as your clients walk through your door.

Health and Safety Measures

Another fantastic way to make your visitors feel welcome is to make them feel healthy and safe. We recommend offering free masks and hand sanitizing stations in your reception area. We also recommend using sanitizing sprays whenever necessary.
