While it may feel like 2021 just started, it’s already time to start thinking about your 2022 marketing strategy. In 2020, many of us lost our marketing budgets. Then, in 2021, marketing dollars were spent to try and make up for what was lost in 2020. But, in 2022, we are hopeful that we will be able to use marketing as a way to look forward rather than as a way to make up for lost time. This is why you need an innovative marketing strategy as we enter a new year.
We’d like to share some of the strategies that we think you should implement to elevate your business.
COVID-19 made online events one of the most popular modern-day forms of experiential marketing. From webinars and seminars to product launches and product reviews, online events are a great way to let people know more about your business. Whether you choose to sponsor, host or sit on a panel for an online event, this marketing strategy allows you to share your product with a large audience without the use of third-party information. Direct selling…right from the comfort of your own home!
We are big fans of custom content at CJ Hester. We have found providing content that caters specifically to our audiences is the best way to engage them. Rather than sending out hundreds of tweets a day, we choose to market ourselves with enriching blogs, newsletters, thoughtful Facebook posts and more. Today’s customers know when you aren’t being genuine. They know when you don’t have a purpose behind your posts. And they know when their loyalty isn’t valued. Show them your purpose and their value to your business by creating custom, genuine content.
Change Where You Market
Have you copied the same marketing strategy year over year? Do you often sit back and wonder why what you’re doing isn’t working? If those questions are causing a lightbulb moment, it’s time to shake things up. Today, there are so many outlets and ways to get your message out there. Below are some strategies you might want to add to your 2022 marketing plan, depending on your product and audience:
- Tik Tok and/or Instagram Reels
- Google Stories
- Apple Guides
- Advertising on streaming platforms (Hulu, Netflix, etc.)
- Press trips or press kits
Optimize Existing Content for Your Website
Content will always be king, but simplicity is the queen. Rather than recreating the wheel every time your boss says you need a blog about “X, Y and Z”, first look and see if there is any existing content you can optimize. Whether it’s an old newsletter you can turn into a blog or an old blog you can refresh with new content and images, there are many ways to optimize your existing content that will save you both time and money.
